Role Overview
As part of our team in The Chedi Muscat, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, contributing as the Assistant Director of Sales. This role is essential in driving sales initiatives, building strong client relationships, and ensuring excellence in execution. The position requires a dynamic and focused individual able to perform under pressure and adapt to fast-changing situations while maintaining high professional standards.
Responsibilities- Develop sales action plan to target key accounts and new business from the Corporate, MICE, Government and leisure segments, while maintaining and develop business with existing customers in the assigned area in the GCC
- Organize and report weekly sales call plan, entertainment plan to DOBD
- To produce sales call report and follow up after each call. To maintain and update file for each account as per standard
- To submit weekly & a monthly sales report to DOBD & DOSM in a timely manner
- To reply to all quotations within 12 hours and with the rate guidelines given. If rates are outside of approve rate guidelines, approval from DOSM or the Revenue Manager is required.
- Established a regular core pattern for meeting with principals of leisure market and conduct site inspections within the resort.
- Plan and execute a series of familiarization tours to profile the resort and engage with customers for convention organizers, meeting planners, incentive operators, corporate travel planners and other industry personnel as applicable for the market segments.
- To further develop and maintain all kinds of programs and related activities set by company i.e. maintenance of sales database
- Ensure a sales focus on all resort facilities including food and beverage, catering and Spa
- Input all data in Opera company profile for appropriate account management, follow up and tracing and ensure the accuracy of all revenue data.
- Ensure files, correspondence and other relevant business documentation are maintained and filed accordingly
- Always be alert and keep management fully updated on any trade related development which can affect the business level of the hotel.
- Participate on daily sales meeting actively with ideas and concepts.
- Develop and refine a comprehensive mailing list for all segments in conjunction with the Marketing department and keep this database updated and regularly communicate with them
- Participate in shows, conventions and promotional events within the resort, the industry and customer organizations as appropriate for the assigned segments
- Work towards monthly budgets
- Set joint objectives and goals with DOBD & DOSM within appropriate time frames and measure performance against objectives
- Monitor account activity and make adjustments when necessary
- Learn to read the Revenue reports with an understanding of the budget the Hotel is working towards achieving in all rooms market segments
- Anticipate client's needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service either personally or through effective communication with other associates
- Align working practices and conduct with Resort's Vision; consistently strive to meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external guests
- To develop and maintain knowledge of market trend, competition and customers.
- Involve management in aspects of decision making for your accounts by participating actively in all meetings and get their input into winning & negotiating business.
- Display creativity and initiative and display leadership skills by being able to operate with minimum supervision.
- Co-operate with all departments within the resort.
- To maintain the strictest confidentiality on all matters relating to The Chedi Muscat plus all other sales and personnel related matters
