Role Description
The VRF Technician will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air conditioning systems at client sites in Muscat. This full-time, on-site role includes conducting routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues in VRF units and related HVAC equipment. The technician will interpret technical drawings and manufacturer manuals, calibrate system settings for optimal performance, and ensure work is completed in line with safety standards and company procedures.
The role also involves documenting service activities, preparing basic reports, coordinating with supervisors and project teams, and communicating clearly with clients on system status and required follow-up actions. The VRF Technician may support the training of junior technicians and assist in material planning, tool management, and adherence to project schedules.
- Strong technical skills in VRF/HVAC systems, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VRF units, refrigerant circuits, and related components.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, piping layouts, technical manuals, and system schematics, and to use diagnostic tools, gauges, and measuring instruments effectively.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to HVAC, including basic controls, sensors, and safety devices.
- Knowledge of HVAC safety standards, local regulations, and best practices, with a consistent focus on safe work methods and proper use of PPE.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, supervisors, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Good organizational skills, including time management, job prioritization, and accurate completion of service reports and documentation.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field; manufacturer-specific VRF training or certifications are an advantage.
- Previous hands-on experience as a VRF or HVAC technician in commercial or residential projects, ideally within Oman or the GCC region.
- Physical ability to perform field work, including working at heights.
