Flooring Installation Supervisor
Badr Flooring is building an in-house installation capability across vinyl, carpet, and artificial turf. This role leads that effort: hiring, training, and supervising a team of installers to deliver project work to a consistent commercial and quality standard, eliminating dependence on external subcontractors and protecting margins on the supply and-apply business line.
Scope of ProductsCommercial and residential vinyl flooring (sheet, tile, LVT, SPC) including Polyflor, Gerflor, and
equivalent brands
Carpet tiles and broadloom carpet (supply and install)
Artificial turf / synthetic grass (landscape and sports applications)
Associated works: self-leveling / screeding, substrate preparation, skirting (cove, cap, PVC), joint
welding, adhesive application, underlay installation
Key Responsibilities Team Development & TrainingTrain a team of 4-8 flooring installers (scaling with project pipeline)
Develop structured training modules for vinyl laying, carpet fitting, turf installation, self-leveling, and welding techniques
Conduct regular skills assessments and maintain a competency matrix for each team member
Establish quality benchmarks aligned with manufacturer specifications (Polyflor, Gerflor, etc.)
Project Supervision & ExecutionConduct pre-installation site surveys: assess substrate condition, verify measurements against BOQ, flag issues before mobilisation
Supervise all installation works ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and industry best
practice
Coordinate materials delivery with warehouse and procurement to prevent site idle time
Manage project timelines and ensure on-time handover to clients
Quality AssurancePerform in-progress and final quality inspections using standardised checklists (flatness, adhesion, weld integrity, skirting alignment, pattern matching)
Manage snag lists and ensure defect rectification before client sign-off
Maintain photographic records of all installations (before, during, after) for internal QA and portfolio building
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards on all sites
Technical & Commercial SupportProvide technical input on tender/quotation preparation: labour estimates, material wastage factors, installation time assumptions
Advise on product selection suitability based on site conditions (moisture levels, traffic class, substrate type)
Support BDM on client site visits and technical presentations where required
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and cost reduction in installation processes
Reporting & DocumentationSubmit daily progress reports from each active site
Maintain tool and equipment inventory; flag replacement and procurement needs
Track team attendance, overtime, and productivity metrics
Contribute to monthly MIS reporting on installation division performance
Desired Candidate Profile Candidate RequirementsMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial flooring installation (vinyl, carpet, or turf)
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role managing installation teams of 4+ people
Demonstrable expertise in self-leveling / screeding, sheet vinyl installation, hot and cold welding, and skirting works
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, and installation specifications
Working knowledge of major flooring brands and their installation requirements (Polyflor, Tarkett, Forbo,
Interface, or equivalent)
Strong English communication (spoken and written) — Arabic is a plus
Valid Oman driving licence (or willingness to obtain)
Manufacturer-certified installer (Polyflor Approved Contractor, Tarkett Certified, or similar)
Experience with sports flooring (indoor courts, gym flooring, athletic tracks)
Experience with artificial turf installation (landscape and/or sports pitch)
Familiarity with GCC construction and fitout market practices
Basic digital literacy: ability to use Whats App, Google Sheets, and photo documentation apps for
reporting
Experience training unskilled or semi-skilled labour into competent installers
