Job DescriptionThe Muscatine Community School District is accepting applications for substitute teachers for the school year.
Substitute teachers are required to have the State of Iowa Department of Education’s substitute authorization, substitute license, or a teaching license and have completed the Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training in the State of Iowa.
In order for an application to be considered complete, a copy of each of these documents must be uploaded along with a copy of an official transcript reflecting the applicant’s highest level of education.
If chosen to be a substitute teacher, the applicant will be required to complete a pre‑employment background check as well as an onboarding process with the Department of Human Resources. Substitutes work on an as‑needed basis, as assignments are available, and as their own schedule allows. Substitute teaching assignments are never guaranteed throughout the year.
