Job Title – Engineer‑In‑Training 1, Control Systems

Location – Denver, CO | or Muscatine, IA

Job Type – Onsite

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Control Systems Engineer‑In‑Training to work in our Denver or Muscatine office. Opportunities include developing and supporting controls and instrumentation tasks on the following types of projects: power plants, industrial automation systems, microgrid control systems, municipal water management systems, and combined heat and power (CHP) systems for universities and campuses as well as federal military bases around the world.

Work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers on the design effort.

Technical Responsibilities
  • Developing Input/Output lists for a control system
  • Coordinating instruments in a process design with mechanical engineers
  • Assisting in the development of Piping & Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Specifying equipment needed for the design
  • Creating network and wiring drawings
  • Evaluating existing controls systems
  • Working with various control systems such as Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
Required Qualifications
  • BSEE or BSME from an ABET accredited university
  • 0-2+ years of progressive experience
  • Passed the FE Exam or will be able to pass within 6 months
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Legally able to work in the United States for any length of time
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background or education in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or Distributed Control systems (DCS), microgrids, cybersecurity, reciprocating engines, industrial control systems, gas‑fired boilers, chillers, simple‑cycle or combined‑cycle gas turbines, or CHP power plants

$72,300 - $90,750 a year (Salary range for CO location)

The starting salary for the successful candidate in this position is competitive and will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications and experience, geographic location, internal equity, company policy, and practices. Approach to Flexibility

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full‑time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or gible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule.

Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off.
