Intern – Cyber Security, Muscatine, IA

The intern will assist the RSC Department with duties as assigned and work with the group to provide support as needed.

• Assist with Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards audits.
• Perform procedural reviews of critical functions, including reviewing Windows Active Directory settings and recommending changes.
• Conduct network access reviews and recommend changes.
• Assist in creating or reviewing network drawings.
• Assist in creating and inventorying corporate-level policies, including reviewing policies within the Cyber Security Strategic Plan.
• Participate in cybersecurity initiatives, such as making recommendations for enhanced security for the different segments of the utility.

The RSC Team, primarily the Cyber Security Compliance Analyst, will support the intern and answer questions as they arise. The RSC Team will meet regularly to discuss progress and determine if additional resources are required for completion of assigned tasks.

The intern is projected to work 40 hours/week for approximately 9-10 weeks beginning in late May, with possible scheduled time off.

Develop an understanding of Reliability Standards Compliance and Cyber Security Processes within the utility.

• Pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good judgment and reasoning skills.
• Problem identification, analysis, and solving skills.
