The Electrical Maintenance Engineer role focuses on ensuring the consistent performance and reliability of systems and equipment within the organization. This role involves analyzing data to identify potential failures, implementing reliability centered maintenance strategies, and developing improvement plans to enhance operational uptime. In this position, you collaborate with cross functional teams to establish metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and integrate best practices that promote long term reliability and efficiency.
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you provide electrical and instrumentation technology support for chemical manufacturing areas, delivering well documented, technically sound, and cost-effective solutions based on recognized engineering principles and sound judgment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Understand, follow, and contribute to the upkeep of Bayer electrical norms, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures while staying current with industry standards, technology, and improved safety methods.
- Support improvement projects (for example safety, yield, capacity, quality, reliability, and cost improvement), including evaluating alternatives and performing cost benefit analyses as needed.
- Specify instruments (such as flow, pressure, and temperature), control devices, motors, and other electrical components for plant applications;
- Review and evaluate vendor information for instrumentation and electrical components and determine suitability for specific project and maintenance applications.
- Prepare maintenance plans to restore equipment to operating conditions in a minimum amount of time, balancing repair costs with minimizing future failures, and contributing to routine electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities in the plant.
- Assist other area engineers (production, process, electrical, project) and technicians regarding instrumentation and electrical performance, providing technical guidance as needed.
- Create and modify documentation related to process operation, safety, and applicable environmental regulations, including electrical drawings and engineering flow diagrams/P&.
