R Production Supervisor (Open)

Location:

Muscatine, IA (ADI) – Filling industrial – Dry‑ice

6:00 am – 6:00 pm (2–2–3 rotating)

• Guide Plant Operators in production, packaging, shipping preparation, and loading/unloading products in commercial trucks.
• Coordinate safe start‑up, shutdown, and efficient operation of the dry ice plant.
• Coordinate with local branch to match production resources (labor, materials, equipment) to demand.
• Communicate operational status continually to the Plant and Branch Managers.
• Interview and welcome new production associates to the team.
• Complete written evaluations and annual reviews of production associates.
• Guide, develop, and mentor production associates in alignment with company policies.
• Track supply inventories to ensure availability of materials.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Identify and resolve safety hazards and quality deficiencies.
• Operate a forklift on an occasional basis as required.

• 70% of time in an unconditioned workspace – requires PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes), gloves for handling dry ice.
• 30% time in an office setting.
• On‑call and shift work required.

• High school diploma and at least 3 years supervising 10+ production workers in an industrial setting.
• Strong decision‑making and disciplinary skills aligned with company policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills for personnel files, time tracking, inventory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email) and higher‑level math for budgeting and cost control.
• Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with elevated CO₂ vapor and lift 5–50 lb. dry‑ice blocks occasionally.

• Associate’s degree (preferred).
• Prior knowledge of ice plant machinery (block presses, saws, pelletizers, valves).
• Active forklift certification.
