Maintenance Skilled Trades Specialist

HNI Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Skilled Trades Specialist for 1st and 2nd Shift to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, mechanical systems, and facility infrastructure to maximize uptime and ensure a safe, reliable workplace. You'll diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, interpret blueprints and schematics, and document work in a CMMS.

Working in a collaborative, safety-focused culture, you'll partner with production teams to drive continuous improvement, support capital projects, and contribute to HNI's reputation for quality and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Document work orders, parts usage, and maintenance history in a CMMSSupport equipment changeovers, installations, and improvement projects
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify and address potential failures
• Provide maintenance coverage across 1st and 2nd shifts as required
