Adecco Search is partnering with a manufacturing organization in Northwest Alabama on an Automation Supervisor opening. This is a strong opportunity for someone who brings deep controls / automation experience and is ready to step into a leadership role overseeing a team of engineers and technicians in a plant environment.

We’re looking for someone who can lead from both a technical and people leadership standpoint — someone comfortable supporting automation strategy, troubleshooting complex controls issues, driving equipment reliability, and helping improve overall manufacturing performance.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and develop a team of controls engineers and automation technicians
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign projects and daily work to support production needs
  • Oversee automation and controls work tied to PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, drives, motion control, and industrial networks
  • Support new equipment launches, line expansions, and capital improvement projects
  • Troubleshoot complex automation and control issues to minimize downtime
  • Partner closely with maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and plant performance
  • Help drive continuous improvement through optimization of existing programs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Manage project schedules, documentation, and relationships with vendors, integrators, and equipment suppliers
What they’re looking for
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or a related manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong experience with PLCs, industrial automation systems, and controls troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting robotics, HMIs, SCADA, drives, and related manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to lead people, prioritize work, and operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Technical training or degree in controls, automation, robotics, electrical, mechanical, or a related field preferred
Why this role stands out

This is a visible leadership role with the opportunity to make an impact on:

  • equipment uptime and reliability
  • capital projects and line improvements
  • broader operational performance
