Registered Nurse, Geriatric

Job Overview

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Geriatric Department. The RN will provide compassionate, patient‑centered care and work within an interdisciplinary team to support residents’ physical and emotional well‑being.

• Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and other medical care activities.
• Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial or spiritual support needs.
• Assess learning needs and deliver age‑ and culture‑appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well‑being.
• Participate in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provide quality patient care and work other shifts or units as needed; may be assigned on‑call.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Current state RN license.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required);
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Basic Life Support certification within 14 days of hire.
• At least one year of nursing experience.

3 × 12‑hour shift, full‑time days.
