Overview
The Warehouse Clerk position is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate receipt of parts or miscellaneous items ordered and placed in specified areas of the warehouse. Receiver must follow proper procedures for receiving all products entering the facility, including verifying the actual product against the bill of lading, confirming product quality, and quantity. The position is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the receiving area, including the loading dock, aisle ways, and receiving office.
The Receiver will work in and out of a cold environment and safely operate machinery including forklift, pull carts, golf carts, and pallet jack.
Additional responsibilities include issuing products out to end users according to work orders/reservations and taking inventory on a regular basis.
Primary Purpose- Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately, with focused attention to details
- Team player with ability to multi‑task, work independently, and prioritize
- Operate a gas or electric‑powered forklift truck to move, pick, pack, stack, load, or unload materials in and around the warehouse, staging area, etc. May include using a banding machine
- Use bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product as it is moved
- Work at the counter to assist customers with filling their orders
- Maintain stock and warehouse area, keeping it organized and clean; receive and verify incoming shipments and then stock accordingly
- Perform shipping and receiving duties in a warehouse setting, ensuring accuracy and security of inventory received and issued while completing necessary paperwork for pick tickets/proof of delivery
- Maintain parts and equipment inventory by checking stock levels and participating in inventory counts
- Follow safety practices to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
- PC experience using Word, Excel, SAP, and accessing websites on the Internet is required
- Maintain certificates as required by department guidelines
- Properly weigh trucks before and after each pickup and delivery
- Receive, issue, kit, repair track, and administer products
- Execute transactions and computer‑related tasks to support day‑to‑day activities and run reports as needed
- Willing to work in dusty environments and perform tasks that may get dirty
Safety
Promote the plant safety program in the warehouse, ensuring the use of PPE and the prevention of unsafe acts.
Inventory Accuracy
Help maintain an accurate inventory through regular cycle counting as well as occasional full inventories.
Order Fill Rate
Maintain the daily percentage of total reservations available to be filled as required by the requested date.
Cycle Counting
Assist in maintaining consistent cycle counting processes and ensure items are regularly and accurately accounted for.
Leadership Competencies, Technical Skills Requirement- Ability to interface and communicate with all levels of plant personnel
- Experience with spreadsheets and databases
- Proficiency in SAP Materials Management (MM) and Microsoft Office
- Forklift training required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Knowledge of spare parts is a plus
