K4 Classroom Teacher - St. Leonard School, Muskego, WI
St. Leonard Catholic School in Muskego is seeking a talented K4 Classroom Teacher for the School year. St. Leonard School serves students in grades 3K-8 and is located in the heart of beautiful Muskego. We are a community where staff members, students, and parents work together to foster success in a Christian atmosphere.
Our early childhood program focuses on nurturing the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. The ideal candidate will create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment where our youngest learners can discover the joy of learning while growing in their love for God and others.
Key Responsibilities- Faith Formation:
Integrate Catholic values, prayer, and Gospel teachings into the daily routine and curriculum, helping students develop a foundational relationship with God. - Curriculum & Instruction:
Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based, and structured lessons that foster early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social-emotional development. - Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment that supports student growth, routine, and independence. - Assessment & Growth:
Observe and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of four-year-olds. - Collaboration & Communication:
Maintain open, warm, and professional communication with parents regarding their child’s progress. Collaborate actively with the early childhood team, school staff, and parish community.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field. - Licensure:
Valid Wisconsin teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one). - Faith:
Practicing Catholic in good standing who is passionate about ministry through Catholic education is highly preferred. - Skills:
Strong understanding of early childhood development, excellent communication skills, and a high level of patience, creativity, and enthusiasm. - Compliance:
Must complete all Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment requirements (including Safeguarding All of God's Family training and a background check) prior to employment.
- Current State of Wisconsin teaching license
- Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods related to students to facilitate learning
- Working knowledge of Google and capability to infuse technology into lessons to enhance learning.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin Early Model Learning Standards principles and practices
