Industrial Pattern Design Specialist

Do you enjoy solving complex design challenges and seeing your ideas become real products? We're looking for an Industrial Pattern Design Specialist to design, develop, and improve loading dock equipment and industrial fabric products that support customers across North America.

In this role, you'll use advanced 2D and 3D CAD tools to transform customer requirements, field measurements, sketches, and specifications into manufacturable products. From flat pattern development to custom-engineered solutions, you'll play a key role in driving innovation, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

What You'll Do
  • Create and maintain 2D flat patterns and 3D product models using AutoCAD and CAD software.
  • Design custom and engineered-to-order products to meet unique customer requirements.
  • Optimize layouts and nesting to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
  • Prepare production-ready CAD files for cutting, sewing, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Support prototype development, testing, product improvements, and engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials, and design standards.
What We're Looking For
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience creating engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD modeling.
  • Exceptional spatial reasoning skills and the ability to visualize 3D products from 2D patterns.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination abilities.
  • Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial product, or engineered-to-order experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with industrial fabric products, vinyl fabrication, sewing, or metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with automated cutting systems, Lisp programming, or Visual Basic.
Why Join Us?

This is more than a drafting role. You'll partner closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, solve real-world customer challenges, and see your designs move from concept to production. If you're passionate about design, innovation, and creating products that make an impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help shape the future of industrial loading dock solutions.
