GeneralJob Duties
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Orientation and on‑the‑job training provided.
Communication SkillsAble to comprehend and give clear written instructions, and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions/Skills- Perform basic math accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
- Give correct monetary change.
- Communicate verbally, in writing, and over the phone to take and process orders.
- Operate hand-eye coordination to make precise quick movements.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Exposure to varying weather when removing trash and other outside tasks; in‑store temperatures range from 36°F to 90°F+.
- Sudden temperature changes, food fumes, and cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters, such as the walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Talking and hearing on the telephone.
- Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
- Depth perception.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.
Physical Requirements StandingMost tasks are performed from a standing position.
WalkingShort distances on ceramic tile or linoleum. Work surfaces height between 36 and 48 inches.
Lifting- Bulk product deliveries are unloaded by team members using a hand truck.
- Cases up to 50 pounds (dimensions up to 3' x 1.5').
- Cases are lifted from floor and stacked up to 72 inches high.
- Large cans (3 lb 7 oz) carried to storage shelves.
- Trays of pizza dough (≈12 lb each) carried three at a time.
- Occasionally, pizza sauce (≈30 lb) carried from storage to front of store.
- Move trays on dollies; stack on dolly approximates 24–30 trays, requires push force up to 7.5 lb.
- Trays may also be pulled.
- Infrequent stairs or ladder use to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
- Forward bending at pizza assembly station; toe room required.
- Position held 30–45 s at a time, repeated throughout the day.
- Forward bending also occurs at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
Performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
Additional Information- Must be able to grasp cans, the phone, the pizza cutter and pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
- Use of pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.
Many team members begin as delivery drivers and progress to franchise owners. Career growth can lead from customer service representative to management, general manager, manager corporate operations, or franchisee.
