Position SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of production machinery and building equipment. This position is an integral part in ensuring the highest quality product reaches our customers in a timely manner, through minimizing downtime and working proactively to ensure all equipment continues to operate at optimal levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain building and plant equipment, working with Manager to determine priorities.
- Assist the production team with setups and changeovers & support operations as needed.
- Execute a preventative maintenance schedule for the upkeep of machines and facilities equipment utilizing the Fiix CMMS.
- Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize interference with production operations and maximize uptime keeping the team fast and agile.
- Use preventative maintenance techniques to detect future malfunctions and to diagnose issues.
- Install new or repaired parts according to specifications and blueprints.
- Maintain records of issues and maintenance completed on machines using the CMMS.
- Respond quickly to production line calls and resolve issues promptly, communicating progress to managers/supervisors as appropriate.
- Perform skilled assembly, repairs, and maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, and welding equipment.
- Follow standards for food safety and food quality production according to GMP, CFR, as well as the regulations of major customers and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA, and EPA.
- Comply with all safety and quality regulations, reporting issues immediately to supervisor.
- All staff members are responsible for reporting food safety problems to their supervisor or the SQF Practitioner upon observation of a known or potential issue.

Required Experience- Valid forklift operator certification
- Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet, on occasion; as well as drop ladder into/pull out of tanks and put into position.
- High school diploma or GED and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in maintenance or other mechanical positions, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, high‑speed packaging, and PLC desired.
- Familiar with quality/food safety programs desired such as GMP and CFR.
