POSITION SUMMARY:

A manufacturing plant/operations manager directs daily operations to meet production goals while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. Employee hiring, coaching, and development are a priority. The manager bridges the gap between senior management and floor workers, managing budgets, equipment maintenance, and personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the continuous improvement program and contribute to the development of KPIs and OEE for the site, aligned with Jackson’s operational excellence standards.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams to foster a culture of operational excellence and innovation in processing methods, productivity, good manufacturing practices, safety, and quality.
  • Collaborate with the EHS coordinator to establish, implement, and manage an OSHA‑compliant safety program for the site.
  • Make hiring, development and disciplinary decisions.
  • Oversee the training and development of employees in safety, quality, and operational practices to ensure compliance with Jackson’s and GMP specifications.
  • Coordinate plant‑wide functions, including assisting in production planning, scheduling sanitation, and addressing safety concerns based on business needs.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and optimize day‑to‑day operations to exceed customer expectations and meet defined plant KPI goals.
  • Take responsibility for production output and product quality based on defined specifications.
  • Implement strategies aligned with strategic initiatives, providing clear direction and focus for Jackson’s products.
  • Oversee the production process, ensuring goods are produced efficiently, safely, on time, and within budget, coordinating workflows, managing staff, and implementing quality control measures.
  • Progressively develop subordinates through coaching, mentoring, and training to meet Jackson’s needs and support internal growth.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, engineering or related field from four‑year college or university preferred.

  • Seven to ten years related experience and/or training in food manufacturing or manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination.
  • Three to five years demonstrated progressive manager leadership experience.
