Production Operator

Position Summary

As a Fry Room Technician at Jackson’s Food Company, your primary responsibility is to produce high‑quality, food‑safe products that meet company specifications. You will follow the guidelines of our SQF program, conduct internal quality checks, provide training to team members, monitor batch production per kettle, maintain equipment operations, and ensure all documentation is completed accurately in accordance with our SQF program.

• Produce high‑quality, food‑safe products that meet Jackson’s specifications.
• Conduct internal quality checks in accordance with SQF guidelines.
• Provide training to team members per the onboarding plan.
• Notifies supervisors promptly if equipment does not meet productivity standards.
• Monitor batches per kettle to achieve appropriate rates based on recommended fried chip pounds per hour and collaborate with the potato and packaging rooms.
• Operate equipment, including setup, cleanliness, disassembly, and program selection on HMI; oversee oil replenishment and slicer operation while measuring against plant KPIs and line run time.
• Verify that all required documentation is completed accurately per Jackson’s SQF program.
• Assist in minimizing shrinkage to improve overall yields.
• Assist in maintaining oil integrity by ensuring it meets Jackson’s specifications.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training in food manufacturing and machine operation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, percent, and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Strong reasoning ability, including comprehension of SQF policy and application of common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions, and solving problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

Requires ability to stand, walk, and use hands more than two‑thirds of the time; lift or push/pull up to 50 pounds less than one‑third of the time; perform stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed. Vision, color, peripheral, and depth perception requirements apply in a manufacturing setting. Work environment may involve moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock risk, vibration, and moderate to loud noise.
