Job Description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens inpatient psychiatry assignment in Muskegon, Michigan . This opportunity offers weekday clinical coverage with optional on-call responsibilities and intermittent scheduling throughout 2026.
The role is ideal for psychiatrists looking for flexible, part-time locum coverage in a well-structured inpatient psychiatric environment supported by a multidisciplinary care team.
Assignment Details
Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
Practice Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry
Schedule:
Weekday coverage: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
On-Call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM (unrestricted call if able)
Coverage Type: Sporadic and ongoing coverage through 2026

Average Patient Census: ~12 patients per day
Total Inpatient Beds: 27

Supervision
Required:
Yes – Psychiatric NP
Patient Population: Adult only (no pediatrics)
EMR: Epic
Security: 24/7 on-site security with staff duress system
Referral Sources: Local and regional emergency departments
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment
Manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
Supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners as required
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
Respond to consults and on-call needs when scheduled
Document care accurately in the EMR
