About the Position
Description
An established hospital-based inpatient psychiatric unit in Muskegon, MI is seeking a full-time Locum Psychiatrist. This role involves managing adult inpatient behavioral health cases within a 27-bed unit, averaging 12 patients daily. The physician will work alongside psychiatrists and advanced practice providers in a collaborative hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care

Manage complex behavioral health disorders

Conduct evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning

Supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners

Participate in call rotation

Follow safety and security protocols within hospital setting

Working Hours

Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Weekday Call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM

1 weekday call + 1 in 4 weekend call

Full-time coverage May–July

Requirements
Qualifications

Board Certified – Psychiatry

Active MI License or IMLC LOQ

BLS Certification

Full-time availability required
