• Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Department (27 beds) - hospital-based, adult inpatient psychiatry
• Employment Type: Locum tenens / travel psychiatrist (13-week contract, possible extension)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (8 Hour Days)
• Call: Weekday call (5:00pm - 8:00am); 1 in 4 weekend call - weekday and weekend coverage required
• Estimated Patients per Day: 12 (typical inpatient psychiatrist caseload)
• EMR: Epic (experience with Epic EMR preferred)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $6,980 - $8,270/week

• Board Certified in Psychiatry (required) - inpatient psychiatrist credentialing preferred
• Active Michigan medical license or IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ) (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Must be available for full-time coverage for the contract duration (no exceptions)
• At least 1 year of inpatient psychiatry experience preferred; experience in hospital-based behavioral health, emergency department consults, and acute care settings is a plus
• Familiarity with involuntary commitments, seclusion/restraint protocols, pharmacotherapy, group therapy, and psychiatric emergency management

• Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for adult inpatients with anxiety, mood, psychotic, personality, eating, developmental, and organic disorders
• Deliver high-quality inpatient psychiatric care in a collaborative multidisciplinary team (psychiatric nurse practitioners, RNs, social workers, therapists)
• Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners and participate in treatment planning and team rounds
• Participate in scheduled call coverage (weekday and weekend) and manage admissions and urgent consults, primarily from local emergency departments
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to security protocols (staff duress system, on-site security, seclusion/restraint procedures)
• Document all evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in Epic EMR in a timely, compliant manner
• Coordinate care and referrals to community resources and outpatient behavioral health services
