Position: Title IA Interventionist (26/27 school year)- 3 ELA & 1 Math
Location: Oakridge Lower Elementary
- Not to exceed 29 hours per week-33 weeks
- This is a grant-funded position (requires applicants to reapply each school year)
- Unaffiliated position/Adjunct Wage Schedule
Title IA is a federal grant awarded to schools based on census poverty levels. It is designed to close the achievement gap of underserved populations. The Title IA Interventionist works with Title IA eligible student in the areas of Reading, Writing, Math, and/or Behavior. These are performed in a small group setting while seeing various groups throughout the day.
Qualifications- Preferred teaching certificate in the State of Michigan valid to teach at the elementary level and meet criteria for “highly qualified” status under No Child Left Behind Act.
- Bachelor Degree (preferred in Education)
- Associates degree or 60 credits and enrolled in Bachelor degree program.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child growth and development and how it relates to learning.
- Demonstrate competency in the areas of instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
- Display a complete understanding of the philosophy and models for providing intervention instruction to at-risk students.
- Must be able to utilize and analyze data to identify students in need of intervention services, their specific abilities, deficiencies, interests and/or talents to guide the development of an appropriate intervention plan for each individual student.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with parents and students and teachers to actively engage them in the education process.
- Establish an open line of communication with intervention team in an effort to increase progress for students and focused instruction with the teachers.
- Monitor the effectiveness and pacing of instruction relative to class and individual student proficiency and progress.
