Special Education Mandated Paraprofessional
Paraprofessionals in this position should expect to work with 1-3 students each day assisting with transitions, keeping on task, providing sensory breaks, and implementing other accommodations in conjunction with the teachers.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Highly qualified with one of the following:
Reading for 4, Applied Math: 4, Writing: 3
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with children with disabilities.
- Ability to assist with physical needs of students, including administering of medication as well as monitoring student during medical episodes.
- Knowledge/experience with two person lift and Solo Lift (preferred).
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to scribe both notes and assignments.
- Available to attend training sessions, as needed.
- CPR certified preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students, speech therapist, physical therapist and assistive technology coordinator.
- Specific duties within the building will be determined by the building principal in conjunction with special education staff and administration and may be modified during the school year as the needs of special education students change.

Hours of Work: 7 hours/day (7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. w/30 min lunch) Monday-Friday when school is in session. Start time on Tuesdays are one hour later due to Late Starts.
