Inspire and support student growth as a Special Education Teacher dedicated to making a meaningful difference. Positions are available onsite at both elementary and high school locations for the upcoming academic year, beginning August 31, 2026, and concluding June 10, 2027. With resource room caseloads that vary by assignment, you will empower students in a welcoming environment tailored to their individual learning styles.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or enrollment in a state-approved certification program recognized by the Michigan Department of Education)
  • Preferred:
    Prior classroom teaching experience within a similar school setting
  • Preferred endorsements:
    Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA)
  • Expertise in adapting general education curricula and implementing IEP goals
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities in inclusive resource room settings
  • Employ evidence-based strategies and individualized techniques (e.g., multisensory learning, phonics, repetition) for academic and functional skill development
  • Modify lessons and use assistive technology as needed to best support a diverse student caseload
  • Foster positive social and behavioral skills through proactive, supportive approaches
  • Plan and facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate direct instruction, guided practice, and independent learning
  • Work closely with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to advocate for student success and adhere to special education laws and regulations
