Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid teaching certificate (Elementary Education or appropriate grade-level endorsement)

• Base instructional decisions on the goals and needs of individual learners, as well as the class as a whole.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, school staff, and families.
• Recognition of the diverse needs among students and commitment to differentiation in instructional approach, in order to meet the needs of all students.
• Demonstration of a strong knowledge of subject area being taught.
• Checking for and building of higher-level understanding in students.
• Efficient and effective use of instructional time.
• Establishment and maintenance of strong, appropriate, relationships with students and families.
• Maintenance of exceptional classroom management.
• Planning for and delivery of rigorous content.
• Utilize technology (as appropriate) to support instruction.
• Must be willing to apply knowledge and principles of the developmental nature of young children:
• Cognitive
• Linguistic
• Physical
• Social-Emotional
