Orchard View Cardinal Elementary School

POSITION:
Long-term substitute for 4th grade Teacher

• Ø Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate or in process of obtaining
• Ø The endorsement is recommended but not required

• Ø Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements
• Ø Must have effective rating in most recent performance evaluation (formal or informal)
• Ø Knowledge of current curriculum trends and ability to write and develop new curricular direction in varied subject areas
• Ø Input/participation in building and district committee structure to develop new curricular guidelines for all ages
• Ø Commitment to work effectively with fellow staff members
• Ø Recent teaching experience desirable
• Ø Knowledge of technology as instruction tools or willingness to become knowledgeable through independent training as soon as possible and commitment to use same regularly to enhance instruction effectiveness
• Ø Knowledge of, and ability to implement cooperative learning strategies and differentiated instruction on a regular basis
• Ø Knowledge of an ability to implement higher order thinking skill development on a regular basis
• Ø Knowledge of and ability to regularly use the writing process and expository writing to enhance teaching and learning
• Ø Desire to develop an interdisciplinary approach to delivering instructional outcomes
• Ø Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines, and building regulations
• Ø Willingness to perform other duties as necessary and/or directed by the principal and/or special education administrator
