Position: Instructional Technician (1 positions)

Location: Cardinal Elementary School

Reports to: Building Principal

Salary: Based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Instruction Tech)

Schedule: 5.75 hours; 8:35am-2:50pm

Position Available: 2026/2027 School Year only

Instructional Technicians- AVMR (Math Specialist) Support elementary students in math development. These individuals work with multiple staff & students. These individuals research, organize, create and implement material for supplemental math growth while adhering to the State Standards of Mathematics through the use of miscellaneous programs, assessments, groups, books, games, hands-on building activities and/or innovative ideas where growth can be measured.

Qualifications

Instructional Techs must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or
  • Obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or
  • Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment.

The Michigan State Board of Education has approved the following formal assessments by which a teacher assistant can demonstrate knowledge:

  • Internet Knowledge
  • Basic Software Knowledge
  • E-Mail Knowledge
  • Instructional Skills
  • Basic Writing & Gramma Skills
  • Ability to work with large groups of students
  • Basic Telephone Skills
  • Lifting
  • Inventory Control
  • Basic Equipment Maintenance/Troubleshooting
  • Professional Courtesy
  • Basic First Aide
  • Collaboration skills
  • Training in AVMR
  • Ability to follow District and State Curriculum Assessments & Requirement
  • Provide supplemental math support to students
  • Collection of data on Student Growth
