Tooling Engineer | Muskegon, MI
Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Muskegon that are seeking skilled Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and optimizes tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define tooling requirements and specifications.
- Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
- Manages tooling projects from conception through production launch, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Selects and specifies appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tooling components.
- Develops and maintains tooling documentation, including drawings, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining) and their tooling requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and manufacturing (e.g., Solid Works, Catia, Mastercam).
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes beyond injection molding (e.g., stamping, casting, CNC machining).
- Ability to perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) analyses.
- Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques for tooling validation.
- Experience with simulation software for mold flow analysis (e.g., Moldex3D, Abaqus).
