We are representing a very prominent manufacturing organization that is actively seeking a Controls Specialist to help support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role works with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to keep production running efficiently while assisting with equipment upgrades, new installations, and continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical control systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Support day-to-day production by providing technical assistance to maintenance personnel and outside contractors.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects.
  • Help coordinate equipment installations, modifications, and plant layout changes.
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of new equipment and technologies.
  • Ensure electrical systems and controls operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Contribute to efforts that improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing, equipment maintenance, or machine build environments; OR 10+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, machine build, and PLC control systems.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems under 600V.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with industrial robots.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 79 standards.
  • Experience with industrial process equipment, vacuum systems, or SCADA platforms such as Wonderware or iFIX.
