JobFunction:
The Lead Supply Chain Coordinator oversees the end-to-end movement of goods, managing everything from demand planning, warehousing, and logistics. The Lead would optimize operational costs, align supply chain strategies with business goals, and lead cross-functional teams to prevent disruption and maximize efficiency.
Essential Functions:- Demand & Inventory planning:
Forecast market demand, monitor stock levels, and implement control methods to avoid shortages or excess inventory. - Logistics & Warehousing:
Oversee transportation routes, manage distribution centers, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery. - Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and mentor Supply Chain Coordinators and Logistics teams when necessary. - Performance & Data Analysis:
Utilize data analytics and ERP tracking key performance indicators such as On-time delivery, backlog, etc. - Requests resources through the purchasing department and monitors scheduled deliveries from vendors.
- Develop, implement, and monitor capacity planning for manufacturing optimizing machine efficiency, manpower, and customer demand requirements.
- Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.
- Identify opportunities to increase strategic value through continuous improvement, optimization, and process control.
- Works according to Scherdel's quality and environmental system requirements, and customer quality requirements.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive supply chain, logistics, procurement, or demand planning. 2-3 leadership role preferred.
- Experience in metal stamping, metal forming, and/or manufacturing planning a plus.
Competencies
- Technical skills;
Proficiency in ERP/MRP (SAP, QAD, Mapics, Oracle), advanced Excel modeling, and ability to analyze data (forecasting, historical usage, etc.) - Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and cross-functional project management capabilities.
- Risk Management:
Develop contingency plans and resilient supply chain framework to mitigate supply chain disruptions. - Process Optimization:
Identify supply chain bottlenecks and communicate with procurement and suppliers’ opportunities for improvements. - Analytical
Skills:
Data analysis Excel modeling, forecasting, planning. - Exhibit the ability to be a team player, solve problems, communicate efficiently, and aim towards optimal results.
- Must be able to perform duties in a fast-paced environment
- Travel may be required
- Daily use of technologies includes long periods of time of use of computer and keyboard.
