The Buyer, initiates RFx (quote, proposal information) projects, negotiates commercial terms and manages requisitions, purchase orders for the purchasing of assigned indirect materials and service categories used in maintenance, repair and operations (MRO).

• Manage purchase requests from the manufacturing sites via the ERP Systems
• Manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Find savings and conduct cost avoidance measures by way of supplier benchmarking
• Support supplier relationship management and contract compliance
• Achieve financial targets by way of aggressive negotiations of price and payment terms
• Minimize supply chain risk and delays
• Category sourcing lead for assigned indirect categories
• All the above functions are to be completed while adhering to Scherdel’s global applicable regulations, such as purchasing terms and conditions, quality terms and conditions, specifications and ethical code
• Works according to Scherdel’s quality and environmental system requirements, and customer quality requirements

• BS / BA preferred
• English speaking and comprehension required
• Experience working with QAD preferred
• Spanish preferred

• Good communication and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to calculate with numbers, percentages, fractions and decimal conversions and manage data in Microsoft XLS
• Must be flexible, adaptable and be able to respond to shifting priorities, and quickly learn and improve new applications and processes
• Creative thinker, with a desire and ability to look for better ways to approach issues and situations
• A team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Must be able to perform duties in a fast-paced environment
• Daily use of technologies included long periods of time of use of computer and keyboard
