The contour edgebanding position is responsible for applying, shaping, and finishing edgebanding materials on curved and contoured wood components to achieve a seamless, durable, and high-quality appearance. This role requires precision craftsmanship and attention to detail to ensure edgebanded components meet design specifications, aesthetic standards, and production requirements within a woodworking manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Apply edgebanding materials to curved and contoured wood components according to work orders and specifications.
- Shape, trim, and finish edgebanding to ensure smooth transitions and seamless appearance.
- Perform hand and machine trimming to match profiles and contours accurately.
- Inspect edgebanded parts for adhesion, alignment, and finish quality.
- Repair minor defects such as gaps, chips, or adhesion issues as required.
- Prepare components for downstream operations such as sanding, finishing, or assembly.
- Maintain consistent quality across production runs.
- Identify and communicate issues related to materials, equipment, or quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production documentation as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report quality, material, or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Four-day work week
