JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and supplying raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility to support efficient production flow. This role ensures materials are available where and when needed while maintaining accuracy, organization, and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Supply production areas with materials according to work orders and schedules.
  • Load and unload materials manually or using material handling equipment.
  • Verify materials for accuracy, damage, and proper identification.
  • Stage materials for production, shipping, or storage as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material movement documentation.
  • Identify and report material shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or carts safely (if certified).
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production, shipping, and receiving teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Identify and report quality, material, or equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining high workmanship standards.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
