Job Overview

Professional Med Team Ambulance (Pro‑Med) is an Advanced Life Support licensed ambulance service. It is trained to provide pre‑hospital critical care, including cardiac monitoring, intubation, oxygen, IV medication, and other life‑saving interventions. Full‑time schedule: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week; 12‑hour shifts; every other weekend.

• Current Paramedic license issued by the State of Michigan.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BTLS, CPR.
• Valid Michigan motor‑vehicle operating license with a safe driving history.
• Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy, values, mission, and vision of MH.

• Assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures or the need for assistance.
• Restore and stabilize heart rhythm in pulseless, non‑breathing patients.
• Monitor cardiac patients.
• Initiate intravenous fluids to administer medication or replace fluids.
• Perform endotracheal intubation to open the airway and ventilate the patient.
• Administer injections of medications, drugs, or immunizations.
• Provide initial treatment at the emergency scene and record patient vital signs.
• Provide medical examination and screening in accordance with Medical Control Authority Protocols.
• Assist in extricating trapped victims and transporting them to the treatment center.
• Lift and place patients on the stretcher, restrain appropriately, and move the stretcher into the ambulance.
• Observe, record, and report to the physician the patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Remain in the back of the ambulance with all patients being cared for.
• Coordinate patient care between inter‑agency personnel and other company employees.
• Operate Pro‑Med vehicles safely and attentively to patient needs.
• Communicate with physicians and medical personnel via radio or telephone.
• Complete all reports, including patient care records, legibly, accurately, and on a timely basis.
• Check medical/operating supplies and the vehicle using Pro‑Med’s shift check list at each shift change; inspect vehicle for readiness (brakes, lights, fluids, etc.).
• Perform all duties safely, courteously, confidentially, and professionally, always considering patient well‑being.
• Maintain response readiness per company response criteria.
• Use safety and PPE equipment as required by law and company policies.
• Maintain vehicles and quarters per Pro‑Med policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
