Nurse Manager (Assisted Living) - The Oaks

The Oaks Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Licensed Nurse Manager (RN or LPN) to lead our clinical team and oversee the delivery of high-quality resident care. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring excellence in clinical operations, regulatory compliance, staff development, and resident satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Nurse Manager serves as the clinical leader of the community and is responsible for coordinating resident care services, supporting and developing team members, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and fostering strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare providers.

Clinical Leadership
  • Provide daily oversight and leadership to nursing and caregiving staff.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
  • Support staffing coordination and clinical operations to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for clinical and caregiving team members.
Resident Care Management
  • Oversee resident assessments and ongoing evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service and care plans.
  • Monitor changes in resident conditions and coordinate appropriate interventions.
  • Participate in resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Family and Provider Collaboration
  • Build strong partnerships with residents and their families.
  • Communicate resident care needs, updates, and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
Compliance and Quality
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, company policies, and clinical standards.
  • Oversee medication management processes and documentation practices.
  • Maintain accurate resident records and clinical documentation.
  • Monitor infection prevention and control practices.
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and survey readiness efforts.
Team Development
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing staff education.
  • Conduct performance coaching and evaluations.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and professional development.
Qualifications Required
  • Current and active Michigan RN or LPN license.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience.
  • At least one year of leadership experience in assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
Preferred
  • Previous experience managing teams in an assisted living or senior living environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Working knowledge of Michigan assisted living regulations and standards.
