Mechanical Contractor Inspector Trainee

Mechanical Contractor/Inspector Trainee - Muskegon, MI

Schedule:

7:30am – 5:30pm, Monday–Thursday;
Fridays OFF.

• Strong background in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and ability to troubleshoot and repair various HVAC equipment.
• Mechanical knowledge and commitment to delivering high‑quality service to clients.
• Proficient in air conditioning installation and repair techniques.
• Experience in plumbing and building HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and understand schematics for effective troubleshooting.
• Experience in property maintenance related to HVAC operations.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

• Knowledge of air‑conditioning unit repair and maintenance, controls, MSDS, safety practices, and tools.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, sheet metal, and carpentry work.
• Ability to read and interpret building regulations and codes for air‑conditioning installations.
• Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical computations accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches.
• Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.

• Hold a mechanical contractor license from Michigan in three of the following four categories for at least one year: 1(a) Hydronic heating and cooling and process piping; 2(b) HVAC equipment; 4(d) Refrigeration; 9(i) Fire suppression.
• OR 6 years of experience under a licensed mechanical contractor who can attest to performance in three of the above categories.
• Must be willing to obtain a state of Michigan Mechanical Inspector license (company can help).
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
