The role provides oversight for our Muskegon, MI and Holland, MI branches and requires regular travel between both locations.
Responsibilities- Manage, develop, and train the licensing team, while providing weekly supervision;
- Build a cohesive team and maintain positive employee morale;
- Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, conference requests, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers;
- Develop, update, and maintain the program operating manuals;
- Stay abreast of current trends and theories to recommend appropriate changes to agency policy and practices as needed;
- Develop, enhance, and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, state and federal agencies, volunteer and community agencies, and other external entities;
- Attend project teams and meetings that will enhance the provision of services to children;
- Oversee the operations of the employee selection, training, and orientation processes;
- Manage the intake and referral process within the program;
- Manage the employee vacation schedules to ensure adequate coverage and availability for services;
- Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to Foster Care, Licensing, and State Adoption;
- Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
- May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field from an accredited college with two (2) years of experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or in an agency performing a child welfare function, or a Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience;
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience;
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred;
- Provide excellent clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
- Obtain and maintain the appropriate professional licensure and registration;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving;
- Reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
- Exercise a high level of confidentiality;
- Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
- Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
