Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Reports To
Manager, HPC Data Center
The JobThe Shipping & Receiving Specialist completes initial verification for identification and damage on incoming/outgoing shipments. This position processes and confirms receipt/shipping documentation for internal/external customers and maintains inventory of shipping supplies.
Responsibilities- Assemble, order, and prepare goods for shipment.
- Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Receive and unpack materials and supplies.
- Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, and record-keeping purposes.
- Complete shipping and receiving reports.
- Monitor e-mail queue and log all e-mails within the ticketing system.
- Monitor ticket queue and follow-up on open tickets.
- Monitor spare parts inventory levels.
- Ensure parts levels are maintained above inventory thresholds.
- Process orders for new parts.
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook is required
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle Net Suite, preferred
This job operates in a data center environment. This role routinely uses standard data center equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, voltmeters, hashboard testers, scissor lifts, forklifts, ladders, and screwdrivers. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, onsite position. Shifts may vary according to site.
