Requirements Qualifications and Skills- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; or demonstrated construction experience and professional qualifications in lieu of a degree; or a minimum of 3 years of relevant construction experience demonstrating the ability to perform the required duties
- Minimum 3 years of field construction management or construction administration experience
- Experience performing construction inspections and monitoring quality assurance and contractor compliance with contract documents
- Experience identifying construction deficiencies, documenting corrective actions, and evaluating acceptable work-in-place
- Experience with construction scheduling, progress monitoring, and project reporting
- Experience reviewing plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change requests, and other construction documentation
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, practices, materials, and contractor/subcontractor operations
- Understanding of quality assurance, safety, cost and schedule control, change management, and document management
- Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and related technical documents
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, permitting requirements, and construction processes
- Ability to assess construction progress, workmanship, and compliance with project require
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prepare professional reports, maintain accurate project records, and communicate findings to project stakeholders
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera P6, TRIRIGA, Procore, Plan Grid or similar preferred
- Previous VA, federal, healthcare, or medical facility construction experience preferred.
- Experience on at least three construction projects of similar size, scope, and complexity
- Experience reviewing contractor pay applications, change orders, cost estimates, and project budgets
- Experience with integrated master schedules and construction progress reporting preferred
- Flexibility to support occasional night work based on construction activities and project requirements
- OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred
Salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities And Duties- Conduct daily onsite construction inspections to monitor contractor performance, progress, quality, and compliance with project requirements
- Review construction activities for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards
- Identify, document, and track deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective actions through resolution
- Monitor project schedules and progress against established baselines, identifying delays, risks, and potential schedule impacts
- Review contractor pay applications and verify work completed against amounts billed
- Review submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), schedules, change orders, and other construction documentation
- Assist with change order reviews, cost analyses, construction budget tracking, and evaluation of cost and schedule impacts
- Participate in weekly, bi-weekly, partnering, progress, and coordination meetings with contractors and project stakeholders
- Maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, meeting minutes, project tracking documentation, and required construction records
- Support coordination and resolution of construction issues among contractors, project teams, and stakeholders
- Monitor contractor compliance with quality control requirements, safety regulations, and applicable labor standards
- Support constructability reviews, project phasing, and assessments of construction impacts on ongoing facility operations.
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly project status reports
- Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address schedule, quality, cost, and construction performance concerns
