Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products division seeks qualified professionals to consider for the Power Plant Entry Operator position supporting the Power Plant at its manufacturing facility in Muskogee, OK. The role involves working with a high‑performing team to carry out auxiliary and maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment assets operate effectively. The shift is a 12‑hour rotating shift that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Pay starts at $25.78 per hour.

The Power Plant can meet all heat and power demands of the facility with more than 100 MW of electric generating capacity and 1,000,000 lb/hr of steam generating capacity. Generating equipment includes three steam turbine generators (one fully condensing, one partial condensing, and one fully extracting) and four power boilers (two gas‑fired, one coal‑fired, and one gas/coal optional). The Power Plant also produces the facility’s process water and compressed air.

• Maintain and monitor power plant auxiliary equipment and perform field inspections to ensure it operates at peak capability.
• Provide operational support in the absence of a short‑term vacancy of other key positions within your crew.
• Promote continual improvement, working to identify opportunities to improve safety and equipment reliability.
• Perform required inspections, lubrications, daily and weekly clean‑up.
• Provide coverage for water testing, review results, and take corrective actions.
• Provide feedback on equipment conditions, potential failure risks, and corrections and additions to job plans.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one of the following:
• At least a 2‑year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, power plant technology, or related field.
• A minimum of two (2) years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• A minimum of three (3) years of operational work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• A minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a power plant environment.
• Experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).

• Two (2) or more years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a power plant environment.
• Experience with operational or maintenance on steam turbines.
• Experience utilizing distributed control systems (DCS) or programmable logic controls (PLC).
• Experience with water quality testing for boilers and process water.
• Three (3) or more years of electrical or mechanical work experience in a manufacturing environment.
