Job Overview
Maintenance Planner at Muskogee, OK to improve workforce productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. The shift is Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm, including holidays, weekends and overtime as needed. The position is assigned to the Wet End. Pay range: $26.00 - $38.86.
Responsibilities- Assist Operations Department with balancing runtime maintenance needs and equipment reliability by identifying proactive maintenance solutions.
- Responsible for long-range and short-range planning. Long-range planning involves regular analysis of backlog versus available resources. Short-range planning is scheduling more pressing jobs.
- Plan and schedule shutdowns (major and minor) using Gantt charts (Microsoft Project), Critical Path Analysis, and resource leveling.
- Attend outage management meetings bringing planning status and accepting new or modified actions, updating job plans.
- Create scope of work (SOW) using GP standardized template, and submit to Purchasing for contracting as required.
- Provide support for discovery work during outages.
- Develop and maintain planner reference systems including a list of planned job packages for recurring jobs, standard job tasks, labor and material libraries.
- Field visits to determine risks and site conditions (EHS, permits, drawings), labor required, craft or resources needed, expected job duration, parts, tools, equipment, sequence of tasks and documentation needs.
- Create and update work orders/task lists/job plans in the CMMS (Passport, SAP) based on work order feedback.
- Ensure work orders are meaningful, accurate and historical data is captured in the CMMS.
- Leverage AMWP dashboards/reports to drive process improvement and gap closure.
- Manage and prepare the backlog for planning based on priorities set by Gatekeeper.
- Review completed work orders and ensure necessary follow‑up is completed.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for assets:
- Add parts to BOM when planning work orders.
- Monitor parts usage not on BOM.
- Update BOM as needed.
- Request new items as required.
- Partner with Reliability Professional and Platform Owner for change management.
- Keep Maintenance Supervisors informed of abnormal or critical situations and seek advice on matters outside Planner's knowledge or authority.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Maintenance, Production, and Reliability Leadership.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project.
- Experience with a computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Two years of experience in a maintenance related role.
- Experience in maintenance at a manufacturing plant.
- Associate degree or higher in project management, business, or technical field.
- Experience with the SAP platform for maintenance work orders.
