- Define data center system-level, product architecture, and research and development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes.
- Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.).
- Provide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining electrical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completion.
- Work closely with the core engineering team to provide site‑specific requirements during the development of the basis of design (BOD) and coordinate system‑level schematics with the Engineer of Record.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certification in Engineer in Training (EIT) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
- 3 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- Experience in electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time as required.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field.
- Certification in Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switch gear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
- Experience with cross‑discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
- Experience in design, construction, commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, associated power management or SCADA tools and with medium voltage systems.
- Experience working with data center equipment and environments with an understanding of start‑up/commissioning processes.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).
As Google expands its data center footprint, we’re seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in the design, implementation, and management of electrical systems for our data centers. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including the Engineer of Record (EOR), to ensure our facilities are built to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
You will have a passion for electrical engineering and will contribute to Google’s critical infrastructure.
Salary: $121,000 – $175,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
