Our Georgia‑Pacific Facility in Muskogee, OK is searching for a Power Plant E & I Technician to join our team. The job responsibilities and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below.

This position will report to the Power Plant Maintenance Performance Leader. The scheduled shift is 6:00 am - 4:00 pm (4 - 10‑hour shift) weekdays, to include overtime, weekends, on‑call, and holiday. The pay range for the position is $26.00 - $38.86/HR based on experience.

Our Team

Located on the Kerr‑McClellan Navigational Channel (Arkansas River) on about 640 acres of land, the Muskogee consumer products operation spans across approximately 70 acres (or 2,900,000 square feet) of manufacturing and warehouse space are "under roof" employing approximately 830 employees. We are the second largest employer in the Muskogee, OK area and 45th in the state! Our non‑union facility operates on 12‑hour shifts, 7 days per week, 365 days per year;

housing 2 of the 13 largest tissue machines in the world and paper machines that produce an average of 900 tons of paper per day. Our finished product consists of a mix of 40% Retail and 60% Commercial.

What You Will Do
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Complete on‑going development of job skills and safety training
  • Perform reliable electrical and instrumentation preventive maintenance and repair work on DC voltage, 480V, 4160V and 13.2KV equipment as part of the Power Plant E&I team
  • Review weekly work schedule and coordinate with the operating shift team to align on priorities to successfully execute critical work to maintain equipment availability and PM compliance
  • Maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment and reading and following procedures and manuals
  • Apply E&I concepts, critical thinking skills, and data analysis to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex issues Inspecting, cleaning, calibrating, and maintaining high voltage distribution equipment.
  • Communicate daily work performed and machine conditions via written and verbal documentation Leading and/or participating in root cause failure analyses to determine equipment failure modes of assigned assets as well as other assets in the department
  • Ensure strict adherence and compliance with government requirements and corporate policies relative to the safe or environmentally sound operation of the power plant
  • Available to work scheduled (Planned) or unscheduled (unplanned/short‑notice hours on nights and/or weekends, holidays as needed), to meet Power Plant Operating conditions business needs
  • Must be willing to be included in the rotating weekend on‑call schedule
  • Work schedule is a (4) ten‑hour shifts
  • Work in elevated and confined
  • Work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Candidate must possess one of the following:
    Two (2) or more years of experience working as an E&I Tech or Electrician in a manufacturing, Industrial or military environment OR a degree or certificate from an accredited institution in an electrical or instrumentation field
  • Experience with computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Experience working with and understanding electrical prints and P&IDs
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Associate degree of Higher in Electrical or Instrumentation technology
  • Experience working on and performing basic programming and hardware changes for Delta V, PLCs, or Bailey DCS's systems
  • Five (5) or more years of manufacturing or industrial experience inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical and Instrumentation equipment
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working within electrical maintenance in a Power Plant
