Job Summary
This position is responsible for all the safety training as well as maintaining all safety and OSHA documentation for the site. Responsible for the material handling and preparation for routine testing and for maintenance of assigned laboratory equipment as well as testing products and raw materials as per ASTM to insure compliance and/or to develop new formulas.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain all required OSHA documentation
- Maintain safety records and prepare monthly safety reports
- Order and maintain personal protective equipment and first aid supplies
- Perform or set up weekly toolbox talks
- Interact with insurance carriers, third party administrators and physicians in relation to Workman's
- Inspect work environment, machinery and equipment in establishments and other work sites for conformance with governmental standards
- Observe employees and determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used
- Ensure monthly inspections and weekly meetings are completed each month
- Maintain updated safety binders and OSHA recordkeeping compliance
- Routine tests of raw materials, calculation of results and preparation of test reports
- Test all products and raw materials and record results
- Obtain product samples and communicate what will be produced
- Perform production material test throughout shift
- Perform product reject analysis
- Visit manufacturing sites to test machinery and report proposed process improvements
- Inspect all finished goods
- Know all ASTM standards that apply and ensure all products meet these standards
- Maintenance and housekeeping of assigned areas and equipment
Associate's Degree or equivalent in academic background and experience or training
At least 1 year of related office experience
Maintain annual OSHA compliance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment
Detail-oriented with a dedication to continuous improvement and team building
Excellent verbal, written communications and presentations skills
Ability to work with and through other company administrative, production and technical personnel at all levels to achieve plant and corporate goals
Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Occasional overnight travel may be required
