Met Lab Technician
Industrial Met Lab Technician/Quality Technician Pay:
Competitive – Based on Experience
Schedule:
8–12 hour shifts, 5–6 days per week
Location:
Muskogee, OK
Position Summary:
The Met Lab Technician will prepare and machine test specimens and perform mechanical testing to determine whether manufactured products meet required specifications and industry standards.
Job Duties:
Prepare and machine test specimens for laboratory testing Perform mechanical testing in accordance with API, ASTM, and other applicable standards Conduct yield and tensile testing Perform Charpy impact testing Conduct hardness testing and other required material tests Review and communicate test results Determine acceptance or rejection of tested material based on specifications Maintain accurate test data, results, and quality records Set up and operate testing equipment Identify and report product, equipment, or testing abnormalities Inspect completed work for deficiencies, hazards, or errors Maintain a clean and organized laboratory and work area Properly store equipment, tooling, and gauges after use Follow all safety, PPE, and quality procedures
Qualifications:
Previous Met Lab, materials testing, quality, machining, or related industrial experience preferred Experience with tensile, yield, Charpy, and hardness testing is highly preferred Knowledge of API and/or ASTM testing standards is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results Comfortable working in a heavy manufacturing environment Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation Work Environment:
This position works within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to noise, dirt, grease, oil, varying temperatures, and occasional outdoor conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from approximately 0–100°F and wearing required PPE.
