Position: Retail Assistant Store Manager - 2605

Overview

$15.00 to $17.50 per hour with an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Assistants may earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $5.91 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six (6+) months of management/3rd key experience. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for the day-to‑day operations of the store and promoting a positive, productive environment. They partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.

This position offers an hourly wage, plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. The actual pay of successful candidates will be based on various factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of pawnbrokers to meet prescribed standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, and ensuring all procedures are followed to protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed company standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willingness and ability to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Ready to work with firearms and obtain certification if required.
  • Willingness to assist customers outside the building and retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexible to work multiple locations and retail schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Availability to work 40+ hours per week (hours not guaranteed).
  • Computer literate, able to operate POS and common office machines.
  • Strong multi‑tasking, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
