We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work on an active jobsite in the Muskogee area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground utilities and be proficient operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget.#
** Responsibilities
* ** Operate heavy equipment -- including excavators, loaders, and bulldozers -- to move materials and complete utility tasks
* Assist crews with setting grade, trench safety, and utility layout
* Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality
* Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed
* Communicate regularly with other crew members, foremen, and subcontractors
* Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures at all times
* Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects
* Other duties as assigned#
** Qualifications
* ** High school diploma or equivalent
* 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction
* Previous utility construction experience (water, sanitary, sewer, storm) required
* Understanding of trench safety, digging around utilities, and safe operating practices
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
* ** Reliable transportation to the Muskogee jobsite
