Position Overview
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observing and documenting signs of wear and tear; gathering capital expense information; recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determining replacement needs; and documenting preventive maintenance activities.
Perform major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment); inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantle equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; utilize hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment;
provide prompt response to emergency calls; and document repair activities. Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs); conduct price comparisons of parts and travel‑related costs; order parts and replacement equipment and track orders; record purchases and usage; submit warranty claims; comply with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines;
ensure quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations; ensure contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements; identify and report deficiencies; unload and store equipment; and transport equipment between facilities. Lead and participate in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determine customer needs and business priorities; coordinate and execute work assignments;
provide advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and model and help others with how to adapt to change or new challenges. Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; analyze and apply information from multiple sources; monitor progress and results; and identify and address improvement opportunities.
Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implement related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and assist management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.
The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

- 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in the state that you will be working.
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- Intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- License in related trade in city and/or state where the job is located.
