RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Correctly performs DOT & PM Inspections on trailers

All trailer preventative maintenance and repair

Tags all warranty parts with appropriate information to include cause of failure, mileage and removal date Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum

Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit Basic computer skills to input vehicle information and diagnose equipment

Basic tools required

Trailer electrical work Tests equipment for proper operations

Fix and repair tires, as necessary

Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, as necessary

Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter

Must have current valid driver's license

Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed

Education and/or Experience One year certificate from college or technical school; ASE Diesel Certification, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Moving and handling oily parts

The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:1 year experience as a Diesel Mechanic Valid CDL LicenseASE Diesel Certification an asset
