Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our TEAM! As the Maintenance Technician we need someone who can make adjustments to machines and equipment for proper operation.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller) using a hand‑held device or laptop.
- Design and redesign programs and software (PLCs, operator panels, etc.).
- Format hard drives and install to the computers (Computer Setup) and PC applications.
- Install, maintain or repair equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electrical energy in a manufacturing environment.
- Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications.
- Work standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment.
- Apply base knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and process control instrumentation devices (thermocouples, pressure switches, etc.).
- Apply basic knowledge of servomotors and drive units.
- Continuously review the area for ideas and solutions that drive productivity and reduce costs, and professionally communicate improvement proposals.
- Plan, submit and execute process improvement initiatives.
- Use a variety of electrician tools including measuring and testing instruments.
- Inform supervisor of operational status of equipment and notify of any problem areas.
- Keep work area safe, clean and organized.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience; knowledge of electrical code.
- Formal PLC training preferred.
- Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
- Three or more years of industrial electro‑mechanical maintenance experience.
- Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
- Routinely work at a height that requires fall protection.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit, climb or balance; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, sometimes to fumes or airborne particles, and may be exposed to a range of temperatures.
